UM Digital Collections is your go-to source for rare and unique digital material about the University of Manitoba and the province. UM Digital Collections aims to unify the campus' digital collections and be the sole location to preserve and provide access to the university's digital content. The material in UM Digital Collections includes images, letters, newspapers, books, and moving image and sound recordings that document the University of Manitoba's and the province's storied history.

All content has been described and indexed allowing for easy browsing or searching of digital collections. Items can also be freely downloaded for your personal use, with very few exceptions, in a variety of formats (example: high- or low-resolution copies).

The University of Manitoba has done its due diligence in determining copyright and privacy rights for the content contained in UM Digital Collections. However, we are eager to hear from any rights owners who may feel that their rights are being infringed upon. Upon request, we’ll remove content from public view while we address a rights issues. Click here for more info.

New content will be continually added to UM Digital Collections as the Libraries migrate their existing digital content to this site. Other units on campus can begin to upload content to UM Digital Collections in 2014. More information on this coming soon.

UM Digital Collections is hosted and maintained by the University of Manitoba Libraries.

UM Digital Collections is powered by Islandora, an open-source digital asset management system, originally developed by the University of Prince Edward Island's Robertson Library. UM Digital Collections was jointly developed by discoverygarden and the University of Manitoba Libraries' Digital Initiatives unit. The University of Manitoba Marketing and Communications Office designed portions of the site's layout.
